I am an engineer who lives in Sillicon Valley, Bay Area, who is passionate in web technology, travel, and photography
When my father was in his early age, from time to time he helped in a photo shop owned by my grandfather. He helped in mixing the chemicals as well as processed the negative to photo paper in a dark room. To this day, we still have the furniture to process the negative to photo paper; sadly it is just sitting there as a small cabinet :(
When I was young, my father introduced me to a film camera with manual focusing. He taught me how to focus the lens with help from the split image in the view finder. He also taught me the basic rules of ISO; though at 10 years old, I wasn't able to understand the 3 basic aspects of photography: ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. With the new point & shoot film camera became popular, my interest in understanding basic concepts of photography became dormant.
Fast forward to recent years; in early 2010, my friend who is interested in photography bought a Canon EOS 50D. Kindly she let me used her camera, and since then we took pictures and learnt together about the technical aspects of photography. This convinced me to get my own DSLR, a Canon EOS 60D.
Nowadays, I carry my camera gears wherever I go and whenever possible. I would like to travel more and take a lot of pictures to capture the moment and the beauty of the world.
And this is the world as I see it. There are many beautiful things out there; at times, something so ordinary can be so beautiful.
